More Spring 2011 pictures from around our house :)

herbs :)
the beginning of "Hanks Harvest 2011"
It has been a slow start with the very cool Spring. Hopefully we will actually have a warm summer this year so our tomatoes will turn red. We will have to wait and see. So far we have planted: Sweel Walla Walla onions, garlic, Jalapeno peppers, Habanero Peppers, Carrots, Rainbow Carrots, Rainbow Chard, a variety of lettuce, a variety of tomatoes, Zuccini, Cucumbers, Pumpkins, Sunflowers, Potatoes, Herbs and lots of flowers.

Our tulips finally came up after being dug up several times by our naughty neighborhood raccoon. He ate most of our bulbs from our planters but these are the ones that survived. Apparently the raccoon thought I planted the tulip bulbs so he could belly up to a "bulb buffet." What a stinker!

Our snowball bush :)

Our neighbor found 3 little bunnies in her yard. Her yellow lab, Lily, discovered the nest and tried to eat the babies. So, our neighbor gave them to us. She said she figure that the "Iowa girl" would know what to do with them. lol So, we were able to make a homemade formula for them and nurse them through the night. The next day we were able to take them to PAWS wildlife rescue where they could get the proper nutrition and fluids. We enjoyed snuggling them while we had them. They were so tiny and cute! :)
